I did my first Dad’s View Presentation on last Saturday.  It went really well.  I will be adding pictures here soon.  Of course, there is room for improvement but I was pleased.

This was done via a back to school event.  It was good seeing all the children getting the information available as well as school supplies.

Hello, I wanted to inform you all that I will be doing the Dad’s View presentation on Saturday (September 27, 2008) at Marcus Garvey Charter School (1537 N.E. 24th Street OKC) for the 95 Red Balloons Back to School Health Fair & School Supplies Give-away from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  This event is sponsored by the Oklahoma City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

I will do the presentation twice.  At the end of the second presentation, I will do a drawing for an IPOD.  I LOVE GIVE-AWAYS!

communication.  key.  blueconversations is a panel discussion designed for high school students.  the panel will consist of individuals who have graduated from high school and moved on to garner some level of success.  these individuals will be alumni of the hosting high school.

Dad’s View is a parent engagement campaign, focused on fathers, not limited to fathers, of children in pre-kindergarten, elementary, and secondary school. The purpose of Dad’s View is to share the importance of being involved in your child’s educational experience from dad’s perspective. The goal is to share the experience of fathers who have taken an active role in their child’s education – the good and the bad – and learn how to become an advocate for your child and work with your child’s school to increase parental involvement and stronger parent-school partnership.
